Travel back in time, ancient time, during the months of March and April.
"Cradles of Art", Sarah Petite's half-retrospective of re-presented antiquities, will take you to Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece, with a little barbaric Scythian thrown in.
Sarah Petite is a long-time Fredericton painter with a special interest in encaustic paint.
All twenty-six paintings are encaustic on wood, some vastly enlarged from their exquisite archeological prototypes.
From Tutankhamen's necklace to scenes from the life of Sennacherib, to a scary Greek Maenad, these relics from the past will enhance your appreciation for the legacy of our distant ancestors.
