Katie FitzRandolph
Paintings and photography

Two new exhibitions open April 20 – oils and watercolours by Katie FitzRandolph and photography by Silverfish.
FitzRandolph's work includes views from travels in Canada and abroad, still life and figure painting.
"Painting opens my eyes to the world around me and its unending inter-relationships," she said. "You see things in a very different way when you are trying to capture what's before you in line and colour." Her life-long interest in art goes back to childhood classes with Lucy Jarvis at the UNB Arts Centre.

SilverFish make a photographic exploration of geological formations near and far, getting down to the core of the earth, its very epicentre. See the plains of Hawaii, rock climbers scaling boulders in the setting sun in New England. Moon rock, bedrock, patterns on stone speak of the paleolithic. Newfoundland, Hopewell Cape, lightpainting, rocks in every shape and size and description. Some of these are things you could have only imagined, like the beautiful rocks of Western Brook Pond, Newfoundland.
The opening reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20.
