It's HOT
at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre

Our summer exhibition is the result of a call to artists to reflect on the theme of HOT and send in their interpretations. The response was interesting and varied, and the resulting exhibition has 30 works by 18 artists.
There are oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, sculpture in several media and photography.
While the works differ dramatically, the HOT theme draws them together.

George Strunz takes a sensuous turn on HOT in one of this three pieces in the exhibition.
Kim Vose Jones reflects on the legend of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and came to grief.
A textile band and blackened branches make a sculpture by Nova Scotia artist Barbara Hill-Taylor.

The exhibition's official opening is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, coinciding with the third Culture Crawl of the 2007 season.
