This is my first studio experience. I'm mostly self taught, and my preference is to work in oils and soft pastels, though I enjoy the occasional work in ink. I like to sketch and paint on site but many times I also compose pictures out of various sketches and photographic references.

I find that painting makes me more observant of my surroundings and the myriad of pictorial possibilities right around me. It is also a way I use to learn and synthesize about things and life.

I have been living in Fredericton for 10 years, working most of them as an occupational therapist. I have only recently decided, with my spouse's support, to dedicate my time to art making.
