October 8

The Work Party:

A work party took over on Saturday, Oct. 8 to tackle outstanding chores.

At right:
FAL board members Roxanne Reeves (rear) and Ann Evans go to it with scrapers on the hall of the main foyer; Karl McLellan from the Building Committee takes a break from foreman duties to fill holes on the stage; and Marisa Rojas and Claudia Rocha from Cocuy tackle plaster and paint spots on the main stairway.

Below:
Dino Kubik and Don Dennison from the Queen's Square Neighbourhood Association discuss painting techniques and Guy Vezina gets ready to paint a lower stairwell.

Others working during the day included Penny Ericson, Charlotte Glencross, Mike Kimball and Katie FitzRandolph from the board; Federico Mora, German Cuellar, Manuela Mora and Kelsey Dunham from Cocuy; and Mario Gaudet associated with the Film Co-op.

Another work party is planned for Oct. 15.

And on the arts front:

The Centre was a busy place Saturday.

In the Dance Studio, a group of wood nymphs learned their paces in the morning with Danse Artemis Dance, followed in the afternoon by a breakdance class.

Upstairs Krista Touesnard was teaching violin.
